Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shelter Attendant to join our team. The Shelter Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of animal enclosures, common areas, and equipment. Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff. Assist with the intake and adoption process for animals. Educate visitors about animal care and responsible pet ownership. Support shelter operations by performing administrative tasks as needed.

Experience

Previous experience working in an animal shelter or similar environment is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members and the public. Ability to handle animals of all sizes safely and compassionately, including those that may be frightened or aggressive. A commitment to providing excellent care and support for all shelter residents. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.65 per hour

Expected hours: 14 - 35 per week
