, you'll play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly at the Alberta SPCA. In this position, you'll support the Director of Operations with a variety of responsibilities from ensuring animal records are accurate and up to date, to coordinating animal transports, assisting with donation management, and supporting facility and fleet operations. This role offers the chance to work closely with staff, vendors, and community partners, helping to ensure our animals receive the best possible care through strong logistics and efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and complete animal care records.
Coordinate animal transports, including veterinary appointments, boarding, and shelter placements, while ensuring safe and humane handling practices.
Oversee vehicle and equipment upkeep, including cleaning, safety checks, supply stocking, and coordinating repairs.
Support donation management by organizing community contributions, maintaining logs, and assisting with reporting.
Provide administrative and team support, including phone coverage, invoicing, event logistics, and representing Operations at meetings or with partners.
Assist with other operational tasks as needed to ensure smooth and effective workflows.
Qualifications and Requirements:
3+ years of experience in animal welfare, operations, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of animal welfare principles and a commitment to ethical treatment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, with strong data entry skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license with a clean abstract.
Clear Criminal Record Check.
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on tasks.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
A self-motivated team player with integrity, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
This role involves a mix of administrative, driving, and physical work. You can expect:
Regular interaction with animals, including those in distress or injury, and occasional handling of deceased animals or sensitive images.
Exposure to animal dander, strong odors, bodily fluids, cleaning products, and varying weather conditions.
Potential for minor injuries (e.g., scratches, bruises) and higher noise levels from animals.
Occasional evening or weekend work, along with regional travel across Alberta for transports or donation pickups.
Interactions with members of the public who may be emotionally upset.
Standard office tasks, including computer use, combined with the ability to safely operate a vehicle.
