We are looking for a highly motivated Research Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our Research and Analytics team in Toronto. In this role you will have the opportunity to support strategic planning and emerging risk initiatives, collaborate with investment, development, asset management, finance and legal functions across Oxford\xe2\x80\x99s global platform, and work closely with the OMERS risks team. You will also be responsible for creating/improving the team\xe2\x80\x99s infrastructure and processes, and expanding its capabilities.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Assisting in the development of and supporting Oxford\xe2\x80\x99s global strategic, investment, and emerging risk initiatives
Conducting research for and assisting in the preparation of reports containing macroeconomic, market-level, and asset class-specific information on Oxford\xe2\x80\x99s target markets
Assisting in the development and maintenance of commercial real estate market forecasting tools for Oxford\xe2\x80\x99s target markets to support assessment of opportunities and risks
Insightfully discussing and interpreting results, identifying key themes, risks, considerations, and mitigants
Participating in the research, analysis, and execution of strategic initiatives for both Oxford and OMERS
Supporting Oxford\xe2\x80\x99s global offices in the US, Asia-Pacific, and Europe through the provision of targeted market- and asset-level research
To succeed in this role, you have:
An undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Economics, Real Estate, Commerce, Finance, Geography, Engineering, or Urban Planning
Possession of (or working towards) a CFA and/or a professional accounting designation considered an asset
2-5 years of relevant work experience in a multi-sector real estate, private equity, or investment banking firm in a research, investment, and/or analytics capacity
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Knowledge of Data Visualization (e.g., PowerBI), Spatial Analysis techniques/tools (QGIS, ESRI), Statistical Analysis software (R, SAS, SPSS), programming (Python, VBA), or Data Science considered an asset
Strong inductive, deductive, and critical thinking skills
Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure with multiple or competing deadlines
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
