We are presently looking for an Analyst/Senior Analyst to join the Collateral Management team within Cash, Collateral and Settlement (CCS). The CCS team sits within Technology and Operations, and the individual will be involved in a variety of daily operational functions.

The Analyst/Senior Analyst will be expected to perform daily margin processes in the exchange of collateral for Exchange Traded Products, OTC Derivatives, Centrally Cleared Derivatives, Repos, Prime Brokerage and Securities Borrow & Lend. Support will consist of partnering with internal and external business partners to ensure the timely exchange of collateral, leading the investigation and resolution of margin disputes, reconciliation breaks and the onboarding of new businesses, brokers, and more. The Analyst/Senior Analyst will be responsible for representing the Collateral Management team on various projects and initiatives and will be responsible for ensuring that respective processes are set-up and tested in a comprehensive and timely manner.

The position will require strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with various internal and external business partners in order to ensure the seamless support of collateral businesses, the support of ad-hoc requests and the resolution of issues. The ideal candidate for this career opportunity is a self starter who possesses strong analytical skills and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The Analyst/ Senior Analyst will report to the Associate of the Collateral Management team.

Role-Specific Accountabilities
  • Excellent understanding of collateral margin processes and derivative products
  • Able to identify and implement process improvements, including opportunities for automation and straight through processing
  • Continues to develop a robust operating model, built on best practices for Collateral Management
  • Ability to drive projects while considering the requirements from an operational perspective
  • Provides information and analysis to other areas of the organization such as Performance Management, Reporting, Audit, and the Investment Departments
  • Identify, implement, and maintain internal controls and procedures with a view to mitigate operational and financial risk
Assists with the implementation of new trading activities by:
  • Assesses the impact of new/amended transactions on reporting, infrastructure, and downstream data consumers
  • Provides support to and builds/maintains strong relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Participates in projects to continuously improve operational support within CPP Investments
  • Acts in accordance with CPP Investments\' policies and guidelines
Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or other related discipline
  • Professional designation such as a CFA or CAIA is considered an asset
  • Minimum 2 years direct operational experience in derivative products
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, good time management and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications; aptitude in learning new software applications
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Murex, FIS Apex, SimCorp, Cassini, Trioptima, Acadiasoft considered an asset
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think through problems, assess a variety of factors and recommend a solution
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adapts to rapidly changing business and technology environments
  • Self-motivated, flexible, adaptable
