POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Analyst, Portfolio Management, contributes to updating BDC's loan portfolio by handling amendment requests and by carrying out annual reviews of low to high complexity required throughout the lifecycle of the loans. He or she analyzes change requests, makes pertinent recommendations and follows up on administrative tasks.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Follow up on outstanding items in files, according to BDC's policies, procedures and audit guidelines, to ensure that the forms and information are correct and complete, that the terms and conditions are adhered to and that signatures have been obtained.

Perform annual reviews on client files to monitor loan activities, identify new business opportunities (financing and/or consulting) and build loyalty with existing customers.

Review financial statements and perform financial analysis, the procedure for credit score loans and the risk rating assessment.

Take measures prescribed by established standards to resolve situations that present a potential risk, such as arrears, a risk downgrade or an important negative change in financial results.

Evaluate low, medium and high risk requests and offer proactive solutions to restructure agreements that minimize risk and mitigate losses in collaboration with the Credit Risk Management Team, the business centres and other internal colleagues.

Authorize, decline or recommend administrative transactions (as described in the delegation of authority), within the established parameters while ensuring a high calibre of analysis and due diligence.

Act as liaison between account managers, clients and third parties and process service requests by validating information and managing files efficiently.

Manage relationships between branch personnel, colleagues and internal partners to promote good team work, the pursuit of common objectives and the consistent application of policies.

Keep abreast of changes made to policies, procedures and detailed processes and trends related to credit and regulatory issues that may have an impact BDC.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor degree in Business Administration or any relevant field

2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the financial sector

Knowledge of products, services, policies and procedures in the banking sector (commercial loans), particularly in credit risk management

Proven analytical and financial skills

Good sense of organization and ability to set priorities to meet tight deadlines

Ability to deal proactively with problem situations in his or her field of intervention

Ability to work autonomously

Proven ability to demonstrate flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment

Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Bilingualism (English and French) may be required depending on the job location
