The Opportunity:

As part of the Reporting & Analysis team, the Financial Analyst (Fleet Management) role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of all Fleet related financial accounting, as well as ensuring the integrity of the Maintenance Cost Division's financial performance and all associated financial reporting and analysis for all appropriate internal and external customers in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Issuing monthly preliminary statements for the maintenance division.
  • Process all necessary journal entries, accruals, and allocations in compliance with corporate reporting standards and corporate accounting policies.
  • Conducting timely and complete variance analysis for the division leadership.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance, highlighting trends and other key insights.
  • Collaborate with division leadership to prepare Budgets and Forecasts within the business planning framework for all fleet planning and Maintenance division.
  • Responsible for all associated analysis and reporting packages to aid budgeting.
  • Complete weekly maintenance forecast or as needed.
  • Complete depreciation and other related projections as needed.
  • Own and continue to develop the TCO model/scorecard and issue regular updates.
  • Assist the equipment planning (growth and/or replacement) by providing insights to equipment performance and ranking on the total cost of operation (TCO) scorecard.
  • Own and administer the fixed asset module within GP as well as depreciation, lease, and interest allocations.
  • Keep detailed information of assets in a central database (Asset Master App).
  • Other Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
  • Account Reconciliations.
  • Supporting the Annual Audit Engagement.
  • Participate and/or lead systems and process improvements.
  • Ad Hoc tasks and projects as assigned or initiated.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a management reporting, or financial planning and analysis role is required.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Accounting or Economics is an asset.
  • Strong Excel skills are required (PIVOT Tables, VLOOKUP's, HLOOKUP's, XLOOKUP's, SUMIFs, VBA, nested 'if' statements, etc.)
  • Experience working with open-source data analytics, reporting and integration platforms (Knime, Alteryx, PowerBI)
  • Able to work with and fully understand large quantities of data and organize in a presentable manner.
  • Good Working Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP, MS Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience working with Trimble TMW TMS or transferable working knowledge of other ERP platforms is an asset.
  • Finance and Accounting Experience within Transportation & Logistics industry is an asset.
  • Perform other duties as required
