The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the finance team within our operational business unit. This role is responsible for providing strategic analysis, conducting in-depth financial research, and supporting decision-making processes at all levels of the unit. Reporting to the Director of Financial Control, the Senior Analyst analyzes financial data, prepares relevant reports, and formulates actionable recommendations to support executive decision-making for the business unit.
As a Senior Financial Analyst - Corporate Control, your key responsibilities include:
Collaborating with the operational unit team to analyze performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and assess the financial impacts of strategic initiatives.
Developing and maintaining detailed financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
Preparing and presenting accurate and relevant financial reports, including monthly/quarterly management reports, contract analyses, budget variances, and ad hoc analysis as required.
Actively participating in the unit's annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting activities.
Working cross-functionally with teams such as Engineering, Operations, and Sales to provide financial support and contribute to the achievement of business goals.
Identifying opportunities to optimize financial processes, improve reporting tools, and enhance operational efficiency.
To excel in this role, you should have:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
CPA accounting designation
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an accounting or finance function
Strong command of financial modeling, data analysis, and analytical tools
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written
What sets you apart:
Your expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606):
Solid understanding of contract accounting and revenue recognition methods for long-term contracts in the aerospace sector.
Your advanced proficiency in Excel and data tools:
Experience with Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, macros), Power BI or Tableau.
Your strength in financial modeling and forecasting:
Ability to build complex models (e.g., long-term contracts, CAPEX investments, pricing), perform scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing.
