Job Summary

The Treasury Systems Analyst is responsible for developing and supporting the technological operations and business systems required for the day-to-day operations of the Treasury department (i.e. SWIFT, SAP Treasury module, long-term debt, cash forecast, money market operations, ad hoc reporting, etc.). The role liaises between the Business and I&T for items technical in nature, and provides support to internal and external customers of the Treasury department. The incumbent also handles the back-office processing of Treasury operations. The Treasury Systems Analyst will also work with the CN Elevate team to simplify, improve and harmonize Treasury key business processes by leveraging the new technology platform S/4HANA.

Main Responsibilities

S/4HANA Project

\xc2\xb7 Project Delivery Responsibilities: take accountability for the solution design, build, testing, deployment, and stabilization period for their designated process area. Coordinates with enabling project team members and business process owners to accomplish required activities and deliverables.

\xc2\xb7 Lead process optimization within their process area, oversee solution standardization that have impact on their Finance sub-function, and maintain CN\'s compliance to legal legislation and internal policies.

\xc2\xb7 Take ultimate accountability for managing and guiding the execution of other key project responsibilities within their process area that are essential for a successful S/4HANA system implementation: 1) security and control (SOX); 2) Change Management; 3) Data governance, migration, cleansing and reporting.

Treasury Systems

Daily Operations of SWIFT

\xc2\xb7 Ensure systems are functioning correctly including incoming bank statements and outgoing wires

\xc2\xb7 Liaise with banks and I&T to onboard new banks and services

\xc2\xb7 Liaise with I&T and Info Security on annual mandatory controls, compliance and attestations

\xc2\xb7 Provide internal support to Treasury staff using SWIFT

Daily Operations of SAP Treasury Module

\xc2\xb7 Provide support in line with the Center of Excellence (COE) standards for the use of SAP and its Treasury module

\xc2\xb7 Represent Treasury and lead the analysis, blueprinting, configuration, report development, testing, transition, training and support for Treasury requirements and updates to the SAP system

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that Treasury cash flow forecasting, debt and investment recording requirements are met in the system

\xc2\xb7 Seek automation opportunities for the department

Daily Banking

\xc2\xb7 Process daily money market transactions

\xc2\xb7 Assist non-SAP subsidiaries with general banking matters

Reporting

\xc2\xb7 Utilize reporting software to develop real-time reports directly from SAP to satisfy Treasury reporting requirements

\xc2\xb7 Maintain and update existing reports

\xc2\xb7 Provide regular, accurate and timely reporting of key financials (e.g. investment borrowing activities, long-term debt, cash position, Board reporting, etc.)

Monthly System-Related Processes

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate with Taxation and banks for monthly inter-company clearing process involving SAP and banking flow of funds

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate with Corporate Finance and Accounting to process the monthly mark-to-market of FX swaps in SAP for Accounting

Back Office Administration

\xc2\xb7 Act as a backup to the Senior Cash Officer and/or Senior Officer, Treasury Operations during their absence

\xc2\xb7 Act as Administrator on banking platforms to manage users and services under the dual approval requirement

\xc2\xb7 Carry out administrative tasks including validating invoices and processing payments

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress.

Experience

Software Programming

\xc2\xb7 Minimum 2 years of experience in software programming, or equivalent

o Accounting experience, specifically with journal entries

o Banking experience*

Education/Certification/Designation

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s Degree in Commerce, with a major in Accounting, Finance or MIS

\xc2\xb7 CPA, CMA, CGA*

Technical Skills/Knowledge

\xc2\xb7 Proficient with various computer systems and technical requirements

\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical skills to consider interrelationships between processes in order to maintain robust Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR)

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Project Management principles

\xc2\xb7 Fluently bilingual in both written and verbal (French and English)

\xc2\xb7 Solid knowledge of cash management requirements

\xc2\xb7 Solid knowledge of accounting and financial requirements, as well as Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of programming (e.g. Crystal Reports, Visual Basic, client server technology, scripts, relational databases, etc.)

Organizational Impact

Decision Making & Impacts

Decisions made by the Treasury Systems Analyst have an indirect impact on CN\'s bottom line. The inability to record or extract relevant financial data can hinder any decision-making that relies on Treasury data (e.g. cash forecasting, investment reports, etc.). The role is given authority to determine how software and systems are used and configured. The incumbent is a key player in the success of the S/4HANA project delivery as well as ensuring operational continuity and optimization of key processes. Generally, the position can rely on processes in place to help make important decisions and all final decisions must be approved by the supervisor.

Level of Interaction/Influence

The Treasury Systems Analyst interacts with individuals inside and outside of CN. Within the organization, the incumbent works closely with Taxation for monthly intercompany clearing processes, all Finance functions, I&T Managers (Architecture, Info Security, Network) as well as CN subsidiaries. Outside of CN, the role communicates with banks for services configuration and onboarding, auditors, solution integrators, as well as third-party software providers. The incumbent also acts as a key contact for all SWIFT system issues.

Employees Supervised/Organizational Structure

The Treasury Systems Analyst reports to the Manager, Treasury Operations and has no supervisory responsibility.
