About the role:

Moonshot is currently looking for an analytical, creative, and detail-oriented Analyst to support the design and implementation of individualized programs aiming to reach individuals at-risk of online harms - primarily violent extremism but also including other areas of risk such as gender-based violence and disinformation.

The Analyst, under the oversight of Senior Management, will support the design, implementation and maintenance of online programmes connecting at-risk individuals with intervention providers. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of digital campaigns and advertising technology, ideally with a background in public safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the design, delivery and maintenance of online outreach campaigns.
  • Identification, collection and analysis of information from a range of data sources, including social media, violent extremist materials and other data sources covered by our in-house tools.
  • Designing quantitative and qualitative research methods to collect and analyze large datasets.
  • Drafting analytical reports and presenting findings verbally to clients, partner organizations and key stakeholders.
  • Working to demanding, high-tempo reporting schedules for clients.
  • Developing and sharing subject matter expertise related to violent extremism and online harms across the organization.
  • Supporting our business development by identifying and applying for funding opportunities, building relationships with clients and partner organizations.
Requirements

Essential:
  • Demonstrable professional or research experience in public safety, countering violent extremism or other online harms.
  • Demonstrated ability to source, interpret and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data, particularly social media or digital marketing data.
  • Experience of supporting projects covering one or more of the following topics: social media analysis, digital communications campaigns, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, interventions.
  • Experience of supporting projects covering one or more of the following topics: psychosocial interventions, delivering training, social media analysis, digital communications campaigns, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Demonstrable ability to work under pressure, taking action and getting things done, both in managing your own workload and that of others.
  • Inquisitiveness and adaptability, particularly in relation to new technology and the use of social media for research.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to Moonshot\xe2\x80\x99s mission.
  • Candidates will be expected to undertake any relevant security clearance procedures per the needs of clients.
  • In addition, we require all candidates to be eligible to work in either Canada or London, UK and will require proof of this.
Desirable:
  • Fluency in languages other than English, particularly French.
  • Advanced analysis of a wide range of traditional and non-traditional digital platforms and / or professional experience in open-source research, OSINT methods, or threat risk analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience with digital marketing on traditional and emerging media and social media platforms.
