Position Overview
This Nuclear Emergency Management Analyst plays a key technical role in the performance of projects within the Calian Nuclear division, specifically with our Emergency Preparedness team. The analyst will be supporting a variety technical projects and exercises surrounding Nuclear Safety and Licensing, preparing and developing emergency management plans and procedures as well as planning and presenting large scale exercises and training etc.
Responsibilities
Support the planning process for large-scale emergency exercises by writing realistic injects to support the exercise scenario;
Provide presentations to stakeholders throughout the exercise design process;
Support scientific and technical project work for Calian Nuclear\xe2\x80\x99s clients;
Support the development of high-quality technical reports and documents;
Provide support to Project Managers as required, including reporting to clients, reviewing the work of project team members and subcontractors, and supervising project team members;
Ensure all project deliverables are developed and maintained in accordance with the Calian Nuclear Quality Management System (QMS); and
Participate, as part of a project team, in conducting technical analyses
Qualifications
A degree in Emergency Management, Engineering, or Science, with a specialization in Physics, Nuclear, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Mathematical streams (or another relevant discipline)
3-5+ years experience within Emergency Management/Preparedness or Disaster Management role
Specifically must have experience involving the development of Emergency Response plans and Procedures
Emergency Preparedness experience within the Nuclear industry will be considered a strong asset
Ability to think independently and provide insight and solutions to complex problems;
Strong communication skills are a must have for this role; the ability to present and/or facilitate to large groups will be required as well as being able to write technical reports and summaries
Ability to adapt to changing project and client requirements;
Team player, able to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team;
Must be very proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Additional Requirements
Must possess or be eligable to obtain a Canadian Government Security Clearance at the Secret level (please review eligibility requirements before applying)
Travel requirements are 0-20% based on facilitation and training requirements with different projects
