What You Will Do

As part of a high performing team, you will provide support for current business needs. This may include anything from implementing performance improvement projects, to preparing business cases for investment decisions, to completing project studies, to supporting the strategic business planning process.

The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally. The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross' comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Must Haves

1. Engineering student in 2nd or 3rd year
2. A demonstrated interest having a career in mining
3. Lodgings in Toronto for the duration of the placement
4. Strong communication and analytical skills
5. Strong time management skills, including the ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines

Nice to Haves

1. Language skills in French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Spanish
2. Experience working with Microsoft Office suite
3. Experience working with culturally diverse teams
4. Experience working at a mine site
5. Active extracurriculars
6. Able to drive in the province of Ontario
7. Experience with AutoCAD suite
