ABOUT THE POSITION
The Analyst, Capital will provide support to the Capital Department which oversees all Construction services across Hazelview's national portfolio. The Analyst will provide analytical support to the management of the full capital portfolio, as well as, on a variety of specified capital projects, assist with implementing process improvement initiatives and provide recommendations to yield optimal results that leads to enhanced business performance. The Analyst will also support the Facilities and Sustainability teams within the Capital department. The Analyst will interpret large sums of data and identify meaningful comparisons, trends and opportunities across the business. The Analyst will also establish new data gathering and analysis techniques within the organization that can contribute to further business efficiencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the management of annual budget files including budget drafts, budget variances, budget reconciliation and comparisons.
• Manage various portfolio databases, and portfolio summaries using various research methodologies, statistical techniques, and predictive modelling.
• Create various reports outlining key progress metrics against previous set benchmarks or towards set targets/objectives.
• Review monthly and quarterly capital reports and provide insights into key performance indicators.
• Support Capital team with New Development Initiatives/Processes and liaise with Development team as needed.
• Support, build and/or manage various tools (inclusive of Software) and reports for the capital team.
• Send weekly reports to internal stakeholders outlining key performance indicators.
• Assist in the management of various utility incentives, including tasks such as providing utility data, drafting invoices, and coordinating with various internal departments to ensure all applicable incentives are being applied for.
• Provide monthly utility variance reporting and work with capital and finance teams to resolve outliers.
• Assist with maintaining, auditing & completing quality control on utility & environmental data.
• Assist with data and information gathering to support with preparation of organizational reporting such as GRESB, Hazelview Sustainability Reports, EWRB, etc.
• Provide support with any assigned tasks/projects from Director, Capital as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
• Post-secondary education in Business, Real Estate, Facilities Management, or related discipline would be preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an analysis-intensive position within a related industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with property management & accounting software preferred (experience with Yardi is an asset).

• A professional demeanour coupled with excellent communication is required.
• Ability to speak other languages is considered an asset.
