Role :

Under the supervision of the Production Manager and teaming with the alignment technologists and technicians, the alignment engineer will lead alignment activities related to antenna products AI&T. In his duty, he will have to:

  • Define alignment references and provide ICD information (client required)
  • Provide inputs on alignment philosophies for proposals and TOBs (Technical review)
  • Act as a GD&T specialist for the purpose of DFMA (design for manufacturing and assembly)
  • Document and track lessons learned in the product design phase
  • Prepare in Spatial Analyzer software the measurement files
  • Support the design of alignment MGSE (mechanical ground support equipment)
  • Promote personal and product safety
  • Promote good alignment practices within the team and outside
  • Follow-up on tooling procurement and assembly activities
  • Monitor measurement instruments health and calibration statuses
  • Provide inputs for capital spending plan
  • Provide inputs on alignment philosophies for proposals and TOBs
  • Document alignment processes
  • Improve the alignment processes by automating as much as possible the activities (software and/or spreadsheets development);
  • Plan and coordinate alignment activities for each project
  • Write alignment procedures and various MPS (Manufacturing process specifications)
  • Support NCR follow-ups as needed
  • Analyze measurement data (calculation matrix in spreadsheets, data comparison and validation)
  • Write alignment reports
  • Support DRB/TRB with customers
  • Train other engineers and technicians in a continuous improvement environment
  • Perform other related activities
Minimum qualifications required:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience
  • Experience in GD&T, alignment and metrology
  • Strong in Math and Matrix Manipulation
  • Very good knowledge of software (Spatial Analyzer, V-STARS, Aicon 3D Studi)
  • Good understanding of trigonometry
  • Knowledge of Polyworks or 3DCS an asset
  • Knowledge in alignment and metrology
  • Proficient with NX
  • Creative, Innovative
  • Good synthesis Skills
  • Leadership and good interpersonal skills

Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
