Lab2Market is a national network for innovation, commercialization and entrepreneurship skills training of students, researchers, and highly qualified personnel (HQP). Dal Innovates is the strategic lead for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) programming within Dalhousie Faculties, delivering I&E programs with a focus on impact-driven innovation, deep science and technology or commercialization of research to students and researchers at Dalhousie and other universities across Atlantic Canada. ShiftKey Labs is an innovation-focused hub located in Dalhousie University's Faculty of Computer Science that introduces post-secondary students to applied innovation at the earliest stages.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Lab2Market and the Manager of ShiftKey Labs, the AI2Market Program Coordinator will play a central role in the successful delivery of the AI2Market pilot program in Atlantic Canada. AI2Market is a transformative new program designed to develop AI and entrepreneurship skills while fostering the creation of AI-Driven Entreprises (AIDEs). The Program Coordinator will develop the program, coordinate program logistics, support participants and mentors, manage communications, and ensure smooth integration of AI tools into the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the implementation of AI2Market all programs, including Discovery, Validate and Launch.
Develop and refine operational procedures to streamline program delivery, mentor engagement, and participant support.
Help participants navigate and effectively use AI tools for market research, business model development, and financial planning.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs), collect feedback, and generate reports to demonstrate program outcomes and inform strategic decisions.
Ensure that programming adheres to agreed-upon budget by tracking expenditures and planning for future programming.
Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure program continuity and quality.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Business, Technology, Education or a related field.
1-3 years of coordination experience, preferably in an academic environment, innovation ecosystem, commercialization, incubator/accelerator, or start-up setting.
Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong collaboration and organization skills.
Ability to work tactfully with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally; and be a contributing partner to a dynamic leadership team.
Familiarity with AI platforms and tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
