Reporting to the Director, OMAFRA-UofG Agreement and Research Programs, supporting the Associate Vice-President Research (Agri-Food Partnership) and working closely with the Research and Innovation Branch, OMAFRA, the Agreement Governance Officer is responsible for: coordinating the implementation of all University of Guelph obligations with respect to governance processes, performance measures, and reporting related to the OMAFRA-University of Guelph Agreement (the Agreement) including ensuring compliance with the legal agreement and supporting program schedules; organizing all aspects of an effective and efficient University of Guelph secretariat function that is key to both enhanced governance of the Agreement and ongoing communication of the value of this collaboration to both internal and external stakeholders; and managing all reporting responsibilities of the Agreement, including organizing, collecting and reporting on all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Mandatory Compliance Requirements.
Requirements of the position include: an Honours Undergraduate Degree, in Agriculture, Food or Environment or related field and five years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Ontario\'s agri-food sector; an understanding of research programs and/or methodologies; the ability to understand and operationalize complex, multi-faceted work plans such as described in the Agreement, working at both a strategic and detailed level; the ability to manage confidential information in a sensitive manner, including information used in scenario planning; and the ability to interpret and apply an understanding of all governance and performance measure obligations in the Agreement, developing new measures and outcomes as required to meet accountability framework. A strong understanding of the University\'s research, laboratory and veterinary training capacity and how they can be applied to the OMAFRA-UofG Agreement would be an asset. The successful candidate will also have strong analytical skills; the ability to interpret program results and budgets; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Finally, the successful candidate will have demonstrated: ability to work in challenging situations where consensus must be achieved among stakeholders with broad and complex needs; attention to detail; exceptional time management abilities; strong verbal/written communication skills; and ability to coordinate multiple and complex activities.
