We are looking for an experienced and passionate After School Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position has experience caring for children, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is capable of providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children in their care. A successful candidate will have experience working with children, a passion for teaching and learning, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Plan and implement activities that promote physical, mental, and social development. Maintain a clean and organized environment. Observe and monitor children's play activities. Provide guidance to children on appropriate behaviour. Provide age-appropriate education and activities.
We have openings as an After-School Program Lead for our after school program with Preprimary to Grade 6 children. This position is approximately 4 hours from school dismissal until 5:30pm Monday to Friday at Dr. JC Wickwire for the 2025-2026 school year until the end of school in June 2026. The program does not run on holidays or when the school is closed.

Those applicants with an Early Childhood Education Classification will be paid on the Nova Scotia ECE Wage Scale.

Successful candidates will be required to submit a resume, as well as provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, a Child Abuse Registry Check and Standard First Aid-CPR C certification, or willing to obtain. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

Must have reliable transportation for this position.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $17.34-$30.24 per hour
