This role sits within Laurentian Bank.


The incumbent is responsible for quality control of reconciliations and processes under their supervision. They support the manager and teams in resolving issues and complex cases, and ensure coordination and collaboration with the Operations sector teams. The advisor is also called upon to support the manager in the team's daily coaching.

Quickly assimilates information, is fast at identifying solutions and taking appropriate action. Skilled at simplifying and clearly communicating information or situations to the management team.



Responsibilities


Review, approve, and ensure compliance of financial and non-financial reconciliations and transactions under their supervision; Ensure the integrity, accuracy, clarity, and completeness of the team's work, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements; Evaluate and recommend control mechanisms and processes to maximize efficiency; Assess and recommend corrective measures, including write-offs, to ensure reconciliations are compliant, and follow up accordingly; Analyze complex cases submitted to them, conduct research, take necessary actions to resolve them, and ensure proper follow-up and completion; Support analysts and senior analysts in their reconciliations and advise them on the actions required to resolve issues; Coordinate, review, and submit internal and external audit requests; Ensure communication and collaboration with internal teams and operations to resolve reconciliation discrepancies; Participate in team and planning meetings, provide support and training to the team; Take charge of special projects or continuous improvement initiatives, and perform any other tasks related to their role.

Qualifications


Banking experience at Laurentian Bank preferred; Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting or business administration within a financial institution; Knowledge of banking products (mortgages, investment loans, other loans and products) is an asset; Proficiency in the following software: Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and ease with various systems such as SIBL/OSV, T24, CPS, and MONETIS.
