Aecon Utilities is ready to become Canada\'s #1 utility construction provider and we\'re looking for an EHS Advisor to help us get there!The EHS Advisor will be responsible to actively promote a health, safety, and environmental culture to all levels of employees with the policies and procedures of Aecon\'s Health, Safety and Environmental Manual. This EHS Advisor will work with our Power Construction Services team.What You\'ll Do Here:\xc2\xb7 Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.\xc2\xb7 Conduct Employee health and safety orientation and site-specific safety orientation to workers, owners, and clients.\xc2\xb7 Train employees in fall protection, confined space entry, traffic protection, traffic control person, WHMIS, respiratory protection, emergency response.\xc2\xb7 Coordinate training such as WHMIS, First Aid, Forklift, Propane etc.\xc2\xb7 Conduct workplace inspections and audits.\xc2\xb7 Conduct behavioral observation in the workplace.\xc2\xb7 Develop workplace plans - such as emergency evacuations, fire emergency, traffic controls, fall protection.\xc2\xb7 Distribution of safety material supplies and equipment as needed to team members.\xc2\xb7 Conduct safety presentations to clients and promote Aecon safety systems to potential industry clients.\xc2\xb7 Participate as a guest of the Joint Health and Safety Committees.\xc2\xb7 Conduct studies and analyze accident trends.\xc2\xb7 Inspect project facilities and recommends corrective actions, coordination of environmental issues.\xc2\xb7 Assist with workers compensation claims and associated activities.\xc2\xb7 Develop return to work and modified work programs.\xc2\xb7 Accident/Incident investigations.\xc2\xb7 Mediate health and safety issues for resolution.\xc2\xb7 Prepare and assist with internal and external safety audits.What You Bring to the Team:\xc2\xb7 Must have previous experience in the construction industry in a Health and Safety role.\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and safety act and Regulations for Construction Project.\xc2\xb7 Experience in the Electrical Utility Industry, both Aerial and Underground aspects.\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of other Regulations, e.g. WHMIS, Asbestos in Construction, Designated Substances, Smoking in the Workplace\xc2\xb7 Must have an NCSO designation.\xc2\xb7 Must be comfortable travelling to different job sites, with the ability to sometimes stay overnight.\xc2\xb7 Ability to work with limited supervision and to be proactive.\xc2\xb7 Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.\xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication with strong relationship management skills.\xc2\xb7 Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.\xc2\xb7 Valid G driver\'s license.Aecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
