Our Team:

Our corporate office, located in downtown Toronto serves as the headquarters for the global Base Metals business, providing support to all our Base Metals operations. In Mississauga, Vale\xe2\x80\x99s Base Metals Technology Development team work to improve Vale\xe2\x80\x99s competitive edge and support its growth strategies by coming up with safer and more environmentally responsible technology.

The Opportunity

The Advisor, Corporate Communications provides direct support to the Manager of Corporate Communications and is responsible for overall executive and senior leadership communication internally. The Advisor will contribute to and strengthen the development, implementation, quality and strategy behind all executive communication activities across the base metals business to build awareness, understanding and support of business objectives with internal stakeholders in support of business objectives.

Other accountabilities for this role include:

  • Plan and execute internal senior executive leadership events, including the Quarterly Leadership Call, Company-wide stand downs and Town Halls as required
  • Establishment and implementation of the Base Metals Transformation Communications Plan
  • Development of a long form thought leadership publication to increase leader visibility and knowledge of key business priorities
  • Responsible for the development of an internal leadership visibility plan that aligns with the global Internal Communications strategy.
  • Responsible for speech writing for all internal executive leadership events.
  • Draft messages or scripts for senior executives for presentations to employees in written or spoken form
  • Give strategic communications support on Iissues mgt (tracking) and support in terms of messaging and content
About You

Education:
  • Post-graduate diploma or Master\xe2\x80\x99s in Communications, PR, Journalism, English or Political Science.
Experience:
  • 15 years of experience in similar field
  • Relationship Management experience
Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and editorial experience
  • Aptitude for strategic decision making
  • Ability to lead and motivate peers and consultants across national and global jurisdictions
  • Strong capacity to think critically, make decisions and problem solve
  • Ability to aptly prioritize work and workflows as well as multi-task
