The Opportunity

The Advisor, Corporate Communications provides direct support to the Manager of Corporate Communications and is responsible for assisting in people and employee communication and engagement internally. The Advisor will be accountable to contribute and strengthen the development, implementation, quality, and strategy behind all corporate communication activities across the base metals business to build awareness, understanding and support of business objectives with internal stakeholders in support of business objectives.

Other accountabilities for this role include:

  • Responsible for creating Base Metal wide strategic communication plans, execution and activities related to Vale\xe2\x80\x99s Business and Cultural Transformation journey.
  • Direct, plan and implement internal Base Metal wide corporate communications plans and support various departments and groups such as VPS, Projects, DE&I, Culture, HR.
  • Plan and execute internal senior executive leadership and corporate campaign event logistics i.e. Talk360, Leadership Forums.
  • Liaison and coordinate corporate campaigns between global Communications departments (North Atlantic, South Atlantic and PTVI Operations)
  • Public Relations and Crisis Management support for internal stakeholders
  • Responsible for writing briefs, speeches, video scripts, articles, reports, social media posts, intranet content etc.
  • Creating dynamic ppt presentations, graphic design elements for posters, social media posts, intranet web pages, and other communication materials.
About You

Education:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, English or Political Science.
  • Preference to those with a Post-secondary or Masters in these fields.
Experience:
  • 8 years of experience in similar field
  • Relationship Management experience
  • Editorial and reporting experience
  • Strategic Communications, Planning, and execution experience
  • PR and Event coordination experience
  • Managing multiple projects
Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Aptitude for strategic decision making; crisis management and PR skills
  • Excellent event management and logistics skills
  • Strong computer software skills (word, ppt., excel, sharepoint); basic graphic design skills
  • Significant experience and skill in writing and executing communications plans
  • Strong capacity to think critically, be proactive, make decisions and problem solve
  • Ability to aptly prioritize work, meet tight deadlines and workflows as well as multi-task
