dynamic, caring, and creative Adult Special Needs Teacher

to join our

Day Services LIFE (Learning In a Fun Environment) Program

, a continuing education initiative designed for young adults with developmental disabilities who want to build their academic, life, and employment skills.

Position Overview



As an

Adult Special Needs Teacher

, you will collaborate with our program Supervisor and Facilitators to plan and deliver engaging programming that promotes growth, independence, and community integration for our participants. You will work across both our

St. Laurent

and

Rosemount

locations.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about special education, eager to make a meaningful impact, and thrives in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities



Support participants in their personal and educational growth Lead and organize classroom programming focused on literacy, numeracy, life skills, and job readiness opportunities Communicate and collaborate with the LIFE program team, employers, guest speakers, and community partners Design and implement creative recreational, social, and educational activities Support participants in community placements that match their interests and abilities Promote social development and ensure all social needs are met Manage and respond to challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism Take initiative and work effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment Apply strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Qualifications Required:



Teaching Degree

(Special Education specialization preferred)

Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C)

Minimum 3 years' experience

working with individuals with complex developmental needs

Experience supporting individuals with disabilities

Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Valid G Driver's License

(G2 may be acceptable)

Access to a reliable vehicle and clean driving abstract
