The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of clerical duties for the HIV/HCV Specialized Support Team and other programs under the umbrella of the Regional Chronic Disease Programs such as (but not limited to) receiving visitors, telephone answering, booking appointments, typing, data entry, filing and keeping of patient charts, collection of stats, and/or independently reporting medical test results.

Qualifications



Grade 12.
Office Administration Certificate.
Recent, related experience of one year,
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
Ability to operate required equipment.
Ability to organize and prioritize.
Ability to type 60 words per minute.
Business writing skills.
Knowledge of general office procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
