POSITION SUMMARY



The Perioperative Booking Office (PBO) ADS11 manages and supports the booking (or scheduling) of all procedures at King Street Operating Room (4 OR suites), Charlton Operating Room (16 OR suites), Minor Procedure Rooms (4 procedure rooms) and elective Caesarian Sections within the Birthing Program (2 OR suites). The Perioperative Program services not only the SJHH community but also supports OR booking for regional partners completing activity from partner sites such as Niagara Health and Hamilton Health Sciences at St Joes.

Through the utilization of technology and specific guidelines (such as rolling tens and utilization data), operating room time, block time and equipment will be managed by the PBO ADS11 to enhance the patient, physician and staffs' experience within the respective service.

The PBO ADS11 reports to Clinical Manager of the Charlton OR and maintains crucial partnerships with the Chief of Surgery, OR Specialty Resource Nurses (SRNs), OR Charge Nurse, staff surgeons and surgeon admin offices. Additionally, the PBO ADS 11 works with decision support to facilitate accurate case log posting for coding.



QUALIFICATIONS



Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, plus 2-year post-secondary diploma in office administration Medical terminology and medical spelling must be at the intermediate level Minimum 5 years' experience providing administrative support in a hospital setting Knowledge of surgical/clinic scheduling, and surgical patient journey required Thorough knowledge and competency in patient registration, case creation and booking processes in EPIC Must understand WTIS booking guidelines and WTIS maintenance Knowledge of ministry reporting requirements including CJRR Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both in person over email and by telephone Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships while handling multiple tasks, frequent interruptions and stressful/time sensistive situations Intermediate proficiency in Windows, MSWord, MSExcel, e-mail, internet, data entry and hospital patient processing scheduling systems required. Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm Clerical testing will be required as part of the selection process Works well within a team setting Exceptional attendance required


WAGE RATE



Hourly: $30.57.....$31.92.....$33.27
