Position: Administrative Coordinator, Land

Location: Edmonton, AB

Division: Engineering (Land)

Description:

We\'re seeking 2 Administrative Coordinators to join our Land team. Responsible for the various duties relevant to the acquisition, disposition and administration of company land and company land rights including researching, preparing and processing documentation and requests, managing department databases, compiling a variety of complex reports and records, and gathering or providing information from a variety of sources.

  • Land Acquisition Services
  • Review and supervise incoming projects
  • Acquire and issue agreements for road use, crossings, encroachments, proximity and railway crossings from external agencies (i.e. oil companies, gas co-ops, etc.)
  • Process document registration, landowner payments and related consent/administration fees
  • Prepare comprehensive release packages for construction, operation and maintenance purposes
  • Consultation Services
  • Complete land interest searches, prepare mailouts/packages, detailed landowner reports and lists for AUC regulatory requirements
  • Review, interpret, enter and maintain stakeholder consultation records and commitments
  • Land Administration Services
  • Provide support to internal and external land inquiries related to existing facilities
  • Support business functions and specialized administrative processes
  • Create and maintain routine and ad hoc reports
  • Compile and analyze data and make recommendations
  • Troubleshoot moderately sophisticated issues and make recommendations for resolution
Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Post-secondary diploma, or considerable courses, in land administration or office administration preferred.
  • Qualifies as a Commissioner for Oaths.
  • Experience in MS Word for Windows and Excel is required.
  • Advanced analytical skills and high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are required.
  • Must have strong record keeping, documentation and organizational skills and able to coordinate information from a variety of sources.
  • Related work experience in Land Administration is considered an asset.
  • Ability to learn, read and write complex metes and bounds descriptions.
  • Knowledge of the Torrens System of Land Titles with the ability to interpret legal plans, company plan sheets, certificates of title, public land standards and a wide variety of legal documents would be an asset.
  • Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, learning ability, initiative, mature judgement, and responsible work habits.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and time constraints, with minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates a professional approach to working with internal and external customers.
