The Administrative Assistant/Security Assistant will support and complete routine security and administrative duties under the direction of the program directors and senior management. This role assists in the organization of employee security clearances, employee identification cards and records, lock and key records, arrangement of visit authorizations for employees and others to gain access to restricted areas.
This role also provides office support for the Combat System Integration (CSI) In-Service Support (ISS) program which includes leading the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) including liaising with the Department of National Defence (DND) building representatives as well as Program Management support as required.. This role is highly visible and will contribute to the overall positive working environment at Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin)
Act as backup to the Lockheed Martin site security officer at the customer site in Halifax in support of the CSI ISS program
Work alongside the program team and site security officer, understanding security requirements and addressing concerns as it relates to the handling of classified and sensitive information
Understand both the DND security requirements and Industrial Security requirements
With direction from the site security officer, work with DND security unit to ensure protection of information and authorization of staff access to DND facilities
Assist in the coordination of employee security awareness sessions and investigations into security incidents such as data spills or information left unsecure
Assist with root cause analysis of security incidents to ensure corrective actions are implements
Provide daily onsite office administration support at the request of the program directors and senior management
Leading the health and safety committee conducting site health and safety audits and working with the customer and program team to resolved issues.

Additional skills desired for the role
Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience and or knowledge of DND security regulation or the Industrial Security Program is considered an asset.
