Job Description

Key Responsibilities



Under the direction of the Victim Services Coordinator, assigns and monitors client files.

1. Prepares and processes a variety of material and information for the Victim Services Unit (VSU).

2. Updates and maintains applicable databases and spreadsheets for the VSU, recognizing wherever possible, information that should be stored on IEIS or forwarded to PIEM.

3. Retrieves information from IEIS to respond to requests for police information from persons authorized to receive such information such as investigative updates for the client files.

4. Scans daily bulletin, queries, and retrieves incident reports from IEIS and organizes files to be handled by staff and volunteers.

5. Obtains updated case and court information, provides ongoing court dispositions via CJIMS and maintains updated court sheets for the volunteer caseloads on a daily basis.

6. Provides support to volunteers on ongoing client files, and liaises with investigation officers for information via email and maintains appropriate information on volunteer client files.

7. Directs victim enquiries regarding Victims Compensation, Restitution applications and Victim Impact Statements to appropriate VSU staff or the appropriate agency (i.e. Victims Compensation Program).

8. Creates and maintains databases for statistical gathering and client information.

9. Maintains daily statistics for volunteer client files for statistical reporting to the Ministry of Justice Victim Services Branch and the Regina Police Service.

10. Prepares closed unit files for long-term storage via the Filebridge system and conducts a yearly audit of open VSU files to ensure accuracy of file management.

11. Types correspondence and maintains a variety of daily log sheets.

12. Creates and maintains time schedules for VSU and ISD Correctional Support Unit.

Competencies



1. Complete grade XII or grade XII equivalent and office education certificate and/or equivalent.

2. Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

3. Good knowledge of CARM, IEIS and CJIMS.

4. Knowledge of the Investigative Services Division; units, sections, mandates and programs.

5. Must have the ability to work independently in dynamic situations with strong multi-tasking skills.

6. Ability to work with other agencies including various levels of government.

7. Professional communication skills including both written and verbal.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $61,231.00-$73,524.00 per year
