Job Description


Midwest Co-op is currently accepting resumes for the position of ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT located at our Head Office location in Teeswater. Under direction of the Accounting Manager, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing clerical and accounting duties such as handling incoming telephone calls and inquiries, assist in accounting departments, general data entry and monthly statement distribution. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Answers incoming telephone calls and directs calls to proper staff.
  • Provide general support to visitors.
  • Serves as customer contact for account questions with the ability to use company specific software such as AgTrax and Patron Access to handle inquires.
  • Obtain mail from post office box and sort and disperse to the proper departments.
  • Assists with daily cash deposits and cash reports.
  • Assist with price changes and flyer programs in AgTrax system.
  • Assists with monthly customer statement distribution.
  • May be required to cross-train and substitute for other office administrative accounting positions such as Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Compliance.
  • May be required to run local errands.
  • Understands and follows all Corporate, Legislative and Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains proper personal image and care of company assets.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Three to five years experience in accounting or sufficient course work to provide level of accounting expertise needed to perform complex accounting reconciliations
  • Demonstrated communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines during the weekly, monthly and annual account close cycles.
  • Ability to operate computers with a working knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and be proactive in providing supplier and inventory support regarding related accounting activities.
