About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Director / Cumberland Regional Health Centre Site Lead, the Administrative Assistant provides office managerial support to the Health Services Managers at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. The incumbent functions as a primary point of contact for the Managers responding to general information requests related to the office or referring calls to others as appropriate. Provides confidential administrative service with high quality of organizational and communication skills to assist and support the Managers in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the office on a daily basis.

The portfolio includes Health Services. These Services are multi-disciplinary serving Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Services are provided to all ages, and in a range of settings - inpatient, outpatient and in the community.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a recognized office administration program/business program/secretarial program.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative experience OR a combination of equivalent education, training, and experience
  • Respects being privy to confidential portfolio information such as human resource materials and financial data; ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Understands and works within the formal and informal influences and decision-making relationships within the organization
  • Ability to identify what issues should be brought to the attention of managers affecting program effectiveness or efficiency
  • Is a self-starter in achieving position related goals
  • Takes action beyond explicit job responsibilities
  • Sets high performance goals, understands which decisions can be made alone and which require consultation with others and acts accordingly
  • The incumbent maintains an awareness of internal and external issues that may impact on the department/organization
  • Well-developed abilities and skills in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies
  • Works effectively during periods of high activity and with varying personality styles and tasks
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing and organizational skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent, Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives

$20.95 - $26.19 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
