Who We Are

Our mission at OFFA is to coordinate, promote and support to the development of programs and courses offered in French at Simon Fraser University (SFU). We also organize cultural and scientific activities within the community to foster a plural and inclusive Francophonie.

OFFA serves students enrolled in courses and programs taught in French at SFU, Faculties offering courses and programs in French at SFU and The French-speaking community.

About the Role

Provides administrative, reception, clerical, financial and confidential secretarial services to the Director, the Associate Director and the Manager in the Office of Francophone & Francophile Affairs (OFFA). Assists the supervisor with a variety of administrative and financial services and ensures the well functions of the office spaces and equipment including IT equipment. Services are provided in both French and English.

Bilingual French and English candidate who will provide quality service, has skills in administrative and financial tasks as well as in office organization.

Qualifications

High school graduation and two years of post-secondary education or formal certificate/diploma equivalent that includes French language studies. Minimum 2 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.

  • Fluent in French and English, both oral and written.
  • Excellent knowledge of standard office practices, methods and equipment.
  • Good knowledge of automated record keeping and financial information systems and concepts.
  • Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent ability to use spreadsheet and database applications (Excel)Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations with accuracy.
