Hope Valley is seeking dedicated and compassionate professionals to join our team as Addictions Counsellors. We are hiring for two full-time positions and two part-time weekend positions for our grand opening, this summer 2025.
Position Details
Full-Time Shifts:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
Part-Time Shifts:
Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities
Facilitate psycho-educational groups and conduct one-on-one counseling sessions.
- Conduct client intake assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide discharge planning and aftercare support to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage crisis situations effectively, including suicide prevention and intervention.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team while also working independently.
- Adapt counseling styles to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with organizational policies.
- Educate clients on coping strategies, mindfulness techniques, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Liaise with community resources to support clients in accessing additional services.
Qualifications:
- Registered and in good standing with a professional regulatory body, such as the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF).
- Experience in facilitating psycho-educational groups and individual counseling.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- High energy, positive outlook, and a compassionate approach to client care.
- Strong reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to handle crisis management situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Certification or willingness to obtain training in:
- Narcan administration
- First Aid and CPR
- Suicide prevention (e.g., ASIST certification)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with intake assessments and discharge planning.
- Familiarity with holistic and mindfulness-based therapeutic approaches.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
