As the Actuarial Manager at Sagicor Life Inc., you will work with and lead a segment of the Valuation team, providing in-depth analysis of valuation results to management. You will take ownership of key actuarial processes, become a subject matter expert in your field, and set a high standard of support and leadership for your team members.


This role is based in Toronto, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Guide and review the work of analysts, actively participate in quarterly and year-end IFRS17 valuations, and contribute to quarterly roll forwards and annual basis changes Provide IFRS17 reporting support by improving and refining the AXIS model, valuation process, and RiskIntegrity financial reporting procedures Complete capital and performance/product management through capital adequacy calculations such as LICAT and MCCSR, and evaluate and recommend improvements to reinsurance programs, including leading reinsurance negotiations. Perform other ad hoc requests, and special projects requested by management
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a background in Calculus, Probability and Statistics Associate level designation with 5+ years of experience Strong knowledge of IFRS 17, and Canadian reserving standards and rules, e.g. LICAT, MCCSR, etc. Proficiency in actuarial modelling software (AXIS experience is considered an asset) Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software with Excel expertise Excellent verbal and written communication skills Analytical and problem-solving capabilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to be deadline driven with strong time management skills
