Position Summary



We currently have an opening available for an Accounts Payable Clerk at Surrey, BC location. This position is an important part of our financial team and is a key contributor to ensuring timely payments to vendors and contractors to maintain strong relationships, preventing costly errors, and streamlining processes for greater efficiency. It also helps to maintain financial data to support good business decisions. This position provides challenging and rewarding problem-solving opportunities and is a critical protector of the company's financial integrity, ensuring payments are accurate and timely.

Position Requirements



Maintains efficient AP processes essential for keeping the supply chain running smoothly, ensuring vendors get paid on time and without interruption

Resolve discrepancies, investigate payment issues, and identify potential risks

Supports the company's success by maintaining vendor relationships and contributing to positive cash flow

Tracks accounts payable invoices for timely processing

Ensures the accuracy of financial transactions

Strong data entry skills essential for accuracy and to drive efficiency

Processes owner operator/contractor payables and related functions

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies if any

Communicate with carriers, owner operators/contractors, vendors, and other terminals via phone, email, and by mail

Focuses on identifying and implementing ways to streamline workflows, centralize processes, and reduced errors for greater efficiency

Experience and Qualifications



High School diploma and completion of an accounting diploma or equivalent experience

Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounting field

Data entry and strong keyboarding skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially MS Excel skills

Positive, self-motivated, self-starter and analytical attitude

Ability to manage in a multi-currency environment

Multi-tasking and time-management skills while working with daily, weekly and monthly deadlines

Work well under pressure

Interprets standard operating procedures and practices and identifies workflow inefficiencies for improvement; problem solving skills

Previous experience in transportation industry is an asset
