What to Expect



SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness. This role will lead month-end AP close, maintain compliance with tax and audit requirements, and drive process improvements. This role collaborates across departments and supports ERP system enhancements while guiding and mentoring the AP team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Daily Operations Process, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system with accuracy and timeliness.
Month-End & Reporting

Ensure AP is fully closed at each month-end; provide reconciliations and reports to Finance. Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger. Provide accurate reporting of outstanding liabilities.
Process & Compliance

Maintain and enforce internal controls related to AP. Ensure compliance with tax requirements (HST/GST/QST etc.). Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Projects & Systems

Assist with ERP implementation and process automation, focusing on the Accounts Payable function.. Streamline workflows for invoice processing and approvals. Identify opportunities for efficiency and standardization.
Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to support business needs. Provide guidance and training to AP team members as needed.
Foster a positive and cooperative working environment, with emphasis on accountability and teamwork.

Review and reconcile company credit card transactions and statements. Manage vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis. Prepare and execute payments (EFT, cheques, wires) in accordance with company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:



University Degree or College Diploma in related Accounting, Finance, related field; or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in Accounts Payable and financial management; preferably with supervisory experience Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) Computer skills- MS Office-including Excel, Word and Outlook (Intermediate to Advanced) Good analytical and communication skills High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial documentation Ability to work in a fast paced environment Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines Strong accounting background will be a definite asset Experience with credit card reconciliations, vendor management, and payment processing Exposure to ERP implementations or process automation projects is a plus
