Role:
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities in the Accounts Payable function. This role manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs, ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and Expense vouchers, and maintains accurate records to maximize cash discounts. This role performs yearly Self Assessments audits, review of Debit Balances, Aged Purchase Orders and Aged Open payables and ensures they are cleared according to policies within FAMM. This role is also responsible for all Accounts Payable processes and ensures procedures are followed according to SYSCO policies and FAMM.
Role Responsibilities:
Manages staff and provides coaching/support on daily A/P activities.
Interviews and hires new staff as required. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance and development.
Manage and ensure processes are being followed as per SOX, FAMM and SYSCO policies and procedures.
Monitor and analyze all Accounts Payable processes and recommend improvements.
Work with other department leads (Merchandising, Costing, Inventory Control, Accounting and Logistics) to develop efficiencies and improve A/P processes.
Ensures inter-company accounts are reviewed and kept current as per Intercompany policies.
Reviews Debit Balances and Aged items within AP/PO and ensures they are cleared/reconciled monthly/yearly according to FAMM.
Manages Vendor relations by keeping them informed of any escalation and ensuring issues are resolved timely.
Performs Quarterly and Yearly CMP reviews for staff and ensures all are aligned with department and company goals.
Participate in ongoing projects with BT and provide support as required.
Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.

One to three (1-3) years of Supervisory experience in a progressive AP role or related area.
Five (5+) years of experience in related area as an individual contributor.
Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in business or related field in Finance.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Knowledge of the IDS system is an asset.
