Accounts Payable Technician

Job Description

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Accounts Payable Technician will be responsible for processing accounts payable information and payments accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures while complying with tax and other regulatory bodies.

What You'll Do:



Perform the day to day processing of financial transactions to ensure company finances are maintained in an effective and accurate manner Maintains and updates computerized accounts payable records Full Cycle Accounts Payable Reconciliation of vendor statements Ensure all invoices are entered accurately into CMIC as per monthly timeline requirements Review and reconcile a variety of accounts payable reports and vendor statements Obtain the appropriate approvals for all invoices received before processing for payments Follow-up with vendors/internal staff for invoice discrepancies Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits as, meetings deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect to others Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its customers Ensure job files are maintained and all relevant information is correctly filed Other duties as require

What is Required:



A degree or diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent discipline 5 years' of Accounts Payable experience (equivalencies with experience will be considered) Experience working in the industrial industry and or construction industry Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and functions of such roles Strong computer skills are required with proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Strong General Ledger coding skills Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment Effective and proven organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a high pressure and demanding work environment Ability to enter and update data in accounting records accurately. Highly detailed oriented Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Demonstrate ability to perform maturely and professionally ensuring complete confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information Demonstrate the ability to think critically, act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems, and make decisions Experience with CMIC would be an asset
