Bird Heavy Civil is recruiting for a talented Accounts Payable Technician to work at our St. John's office.
If you are an experienced and qualified individual, seize this opportunity to work on projects that matter to you and to the communities in which we operate.
Accounts Payable:Receive and verify invoices prior to payment for assigned vendors; verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
Prepare batches of invoices for data entry; enter invoices for assigned vendors for payment using accounting software; process backup reports after data entry.
Prepare weekly manual cheques & direct deposits as required and record accordingly.
Assist Accounts Payable Supervisor with monthly cheque runs and record accordingly.
Reconcile vendor statements for assigned vendors, research and correct discrepancies.
Maintain and update all vendor files and respond to vendor inquiries.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of Accounts Payable files.
Provide administrative support and clerical services to ensure the office is operating efficiently and effectively.
What We Are Looking For:Minimum of 2 years Accounting experience or equivalent education.
A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). Fluency in French would be an asset.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and attention to detail.
Time management and organizational skills.
