Senior Accounts Payables Manager

The Senior Accounts Payables Manager will be responsible for leading several teams within a high volume fast paced shared service AP department. The Senior AP Manager will have proven experience leading a large team, initiating process improvements, making decisions to resolve vendor issues and hold team accountable. This is a long term contract located in Vaughan, Ontario.

Vendor Management

• Provide leadership support to the Vendor Management team, including Vendor creation and change management processes to ensure accuracy & completeness of records, while maintaining and improving internal control procedures.

• Review audit results with business leaders and develop compliance and training programs as required.

Vendor Statement Reconciliation

• Oversee the maintenance of posted vendor accounts in the sub ledger through the leadership of the vendor statement reconciliations team, as well as other support involved with Accounts Payable vendor account clean up.

• Identify and present solutions to the Senior Manager Accounts Payable, for continuous process improvement opportunities.

• Support the monitoring and execution of internal control procedures to ensure confidential records and company assets are adequately protected.

• Support in maintaining all AP procedural controls to ensure that sufficient evidence is in place and is monitored/tracked in order to adhere to corporate policies.

• Validate and report on all key performance indicators for AP team to Senior Management, for all established process benchmarks.

• Subject matter expert for any implementation of new systems and process improvements

• Help establish best practices and govern change management to support automating manual processes to drive efficiencies

• Provide mentorship and guidance to AP team and ensure teams meet monthly deadlines

• Assist in providing performance feedback and coaching to team members.

• Foster teamwork and communication within and across organizational boundaries

• Support staff training as required.

- 10+ years in Supervisory AP role
- Prior experience leading team in shared services environment
- Proficiency in working with large ERP systems
- Strong command of Excel
- Experience improving processes and implementing efficiencies
