About the Role
A leading construction company in Alberta is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join its accounting team. This role will focus on processing vendor invoices, reconciling contracts and accounts, and ensuring financial transactions are managed efficiently.
As an integral part of the accounting team, you will work closely with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with company policies and financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and timelines
Analyze and respond to vendor inquiries, resolving invoice discrepancies
Input invoices into accounting software and manage bi-monthly cheque runs and payments
Assist with vendor account setup, including credit applications
Verify subcontractor qualifications including WCB, insurance, and contracts
Assist in preparing monthly project draws to lenders
Process inter-company account transactions accurately
Reconcile vendor accounts and corporate credit cards
Maintain proper document filing, archiving, and record-keeping
Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and present recommendations to leadership
Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with policies

Required Skills and Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word
Experience with Google Applications
Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar
Minimum of two years of experience in an accounts payable or accounting support role, preferably in the construction industry
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business is preferred
Additional Details
Vacation: 4% vacation pay (2 weeks)
Dress Code: Business Casual
Breaks: 30-minute lunch plus two 15-minute breaks (cannot be combined for a longer lunch)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,037.47 per year
