Job Description

Robert Half currently has an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. Based out of the Mississauga, Ontario area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary opening. This department offers prospects of career growth and advancement. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be expected to match and batch code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks.

Major responsibilities
- Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed
- Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned
- Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed
- Provide customer service to internal business partners
- Accomplish full-cycle A/P
- Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling
- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

- Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
- 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven knowledge of general ledger
- Well-founded grasp of Enter Invoices
- Proficiency in Check Deposit
- Bank Account Reconciliation experience preferred
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Check Runs experience
- General familiarity with Sage Software
- Experience with journal entries
- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
