Pioneer Flower Farms Limited is one of the largest bulb forcing farms in North America producing over 90 million blooms per year. We work with the best bulb stock growers in Holland to produce quality cut flowers and potted plants at our modern, state of the art facility located in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Pioneer is seeking a skilled office administrative clerk with some financial background in accounts payable and inventory management, who can become an integral part of our greenhouse operation's finance team. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work in a pleasant, motivating and stimulating environment!
Some of the main duties and responsibilities will include:
Accounts payable:
Process and verify authorized invoices.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
Reconcile and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
Maintain and update accounts payable ledgers and vendor files.
Prepare and maintain various AP reports and schedules, including freight and vendor claims
Inventory management:
Conduct physical counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Assist with processing incoming supplies and materials.
Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
Administrative/Clerical:
Perform typing and clerical duties, and handle copying, faxing, and scanning.
Maintaining filing systems (physical and digital).
Handling mail, correspondence, and email communication (when needed).
Data entry and maintaining accurate records.
Other:
May assist with other administrative, clerical or farm-related tasks as needed.
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Comply with company policies and procedures, including safety.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Experience in accounts payable, inventory management and general administration.
Knowledge of horticultural / farm equipment systems is an asset
Computer Programs (Word, Excel, AccPac, Plant Partner)
Good oral, written and technical communication and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of workers and vendors
Attention to detail, cleanliness, and organized
Flexible, proactive, self-motivated, and willing to accept new challenges
Be a self-starter, and be able to work with little supervision
Time Management
Job type: Full-time (40-45 hours per week), permanent
Wage: Starting from $21-24 per hour, negotiable based on experience and performance
Benefits: available after probationary period

Willing to work Monday-Saturday and varied hours according to business needs
