Our Concord client is a leading home-builder with locations all across the Greater Toronto Area.

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and maintaining appropriate financial documentation through an organized system of filing. Duties will also include assisting the Sr. Administrative Assistant with various administrative tasks such as filing, light reception type of work, calendar organizing, delivery of some packages.

In this role you will report to the group President and Controller and be responsible for:

  • Manage accounts payable
  • Maintaining an organized filing system for all appropriate documents
  • Processing invoices for posting
  • Ensure accurate processing of monthly remittances
  • Prepare invoices when necessary
  • Keeping control sheet of invoices in a digital format
  • Perform clerical duties, such as maintain filing and record systems
  • Enter invoices
  • Match invoices with purchase orders
  • Check all claims for accuracy
  • Verify account codes and signatures for proper assignment of budgetary expenditures
  • Act as first line contact with trades regarding billing problems, formed of potential accounting and billing problems
  • Serve as a back-up for various accounting and administrative functions
Additional administrative duties to assist the Sr. Administrative Assistant:
  • Screen and monitor Supervisor\'s incoming calls and visitors
  • Transfer calls and/or take messages in a timely manner
  • Mail run, pick up and distribution to Main building
  • Co-ordinate courier deliveries and maintaining courier receipts
  • Track attendance and keep logs
  • Assist in reception by answering incoming department calls if receptionist is busy
  • Transfer calls and or take messages
  • Monitor entry door security system
  • Prepare start-up file folders for all new projects
  • Organization of all file folders, including electronic filing
  • Preparation of cheque requisitions for approval and processing
  • Photocopy and print
  • Any other reasonable, lawful requirement of Employer

Job Requirements:
  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma with accounting focus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills with keen attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
