Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining payroll records. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of payroll systems to support the overall financial operations of the organization.

Responsibilities



Process bi-weekly payroll for 150 - 160 employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and deductions. Maintain employee records in Payworks including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status. Perform account reconciliation to ensure payroll accounts are accurate and discrepancies are resolved promptly. Utilize accounting software such as

Payworks

for payroll processing and reporting. Conduct data entry tasks related to employee time sheets and payroll adjustments. Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies regarding payroll practices. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist in the preparation of reports related to payroll metrics and compliance. Posting month-end and year-end journal entries Being the main point of contact anything Payroll related including vacation requests and information, Letters of Employment, and updating employee information Entering of new hires, wage adjustments, and terminations in the payroll system. Enrolling all eligible employees into the companies Group Insurance plan, keeping track of wage changes and updates, and handling all claims (No more than 3 per month) Creating and exporting necessary Payroll reports for compiling data Sales reports including commissions for certain employees Calculations of gratuities for employees once a month Submitting year-end reports regarding payroll including T4's and T2200's Handling all WCB including filling out forms and reaching out to employees and their supervisors for further information. Creating company memos and updating company policies as requested by company owners. Prepare different reports Payroll and sales reports. Intercompany reconciliation. Accounts reconciliation. Assisting the Controller as required.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or similar role is preferred. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping. Knowledge of account reconciliation processes and best practices. Familiarity with Payworks systems for managing employee information. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication skills to interact with employees at all levels of the organization. High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Pay: $42,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
