Accounting System Implementation Manager

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting System Implementation Manager for a 6 month contract. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the seamless integration of a new global accounting system, collaborating with stakeholders to align processes and maintain data accuracy. This position offers an opportunity to leverage your expertise in finance and accounting system implementations while contributing to the success of a significant organizational transition.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business users to analyze existing accounting workflows and guide the transition to the new system.
  • Conduct data cleansing, migration checks, and master data validation to ensure system accuracy.
  • Prepare reconciliations and documentation to support the global implementation team.
  • Identify and address risks or issues related to local accounting processes and financial reporting.
  • Provide support for month-end and quarter-end activities to maintain continuity during the transition.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of workflows, procedures, and controls for the new system.
  • Train local staff on the features and functionality of the new accounting system.
  • Perform parallel runs of the old and new systems to validate balances and reporting accuracy.
  • Act as a liaison with the global implementation team, ensuring Canadian-specific requirements are met.
  • Resolve discrepancies in historical and current financial data during system migration.
  • A recognized accounting designation (CPA or international equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a Finance Manager or Controller role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting system implementations such as SAP, Oracle, or S/4HANA.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global and local teams.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to data accuracy and reporting during system transitions.
