NSC Minerals Ltd. was established in 1988, Since then, we have grown to become a major supplier of minerals, such as Salt and Calcium Chloride in Western Canada and the North and Midwest regions of the United States. Our head office is located in Saskatoon, SK and we have operating plants in Rocanville, SK, Vanscoy, SK and Brooks, AB. We have a packaging plant just outside of Saskatoon, SK and bulk inventory storage in Alberta and Manitoba. Along with our focus on safety and the environment, we have a dedicated employee base, solid logistics network and a committed customer base.
The Accounting Specialist - Receivables is responsible for ensuring the organization receives appropriate payment for goods and services provided to customers.
Responsibilities:
• Prepares, verifies, posts and records customer payments and transactions in accounting program
• Creates invoices and submits to customer for payment
• Submit invoices to third-party websites like SAP Ariba for City of Edmonton, SAP Fieldglass for Suncor Energy, and Open Invoice for Canadian Natural Resources and Upgrading
• Maintains customer information and files
• Processes credits or returns as required
• Sets up customers in the system
• Reports on receivable aging and collections, follows up with customers on late payments
• Monitor and apply outstanding customer credit on account, contact customers to ensure accounts are reconciled
• Processes credit applications for vendors and customers. Conducts references checks as required.
• Reviews credit card payments
• Deposits and record customer cheque payments into bank system online
• Assists Controller with month end or year end reporting as required
• Covers administrative responsibilities, such as answering phones or greeting visitors
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Completion of an Accounting Technician Certificate combined with 2 years experience working in a similar position. An equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.
• Organized with strong attention to detail skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Results oriented
