We are looking for a skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Ottawa, Ontario. This role is ideal for an individual with strong expertise in accounts payable, general ledger preparation, and financial reconciliation. As part of a non-profit organization, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable processes, including verifying receipts, preparing checks, and reconciling transactions.
• Generate and review invoices while maintaining accurate financial records.
• Prepare and maintain the general ledger, ensuring compliance with established accounting standards.
• Review aged accounts receivable reports and assist in resolving discrepancies.
• Handle credit card reconciliations and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
• Process purchase requests through online systems, utilizing tools such as CaseFlo and Excel.
• Collaborate with payroll systems like ADP, Ceridian, and Concur to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
• Support ERP system operations by integrating accounting functions efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with financial policies and procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools such as ADP, Ceridian, and Concur.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, invoice processing, and general ledger management.
• Experience with ERP systems and enterprise resource planning processes.
• Familiarity with credit card reconciliation and payment processing.
• Proven ability to work with financial data in Excel and other relevant software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication abilities to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
