R&F Construction Inc. - DKI is a disaster recovery, property restoration, renovation and construction company with over 50 years in business.
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Payroll, along with supporting responsibilities in Accounts Payable (AP). This role is essential to ensuring accuracy and timeliness in invoicing, collections, payroll, vendor payments, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to maintain compliance and foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and internal staff.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and issue AR invoices (deductible, inspection, emergency, repair, private jobs).
- Ensure accuracy of job invoice reports and upload invoices to PSA/XactAnalysis
- Follow up with adjusters and clients on outstanding payments.
- Monitor AR Aging Reports, record collection activities, and process deposits.
Payroll
- Maintain payroll records and systems (PSA, Easypay, DRS Complete).
- Process weekly payroll, verify timecards/labour sheets.
- Prepare filings and statements for T4, WSIB, EHT, and RRSP.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and maintain confidentiality.
Administrative & General
- Provide support to the Controller and President as required.
- Assist in process improvements and implementing new systems.
- Handle phones, emails, and visitor inquiries in a professional manner.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive company image.
Accounts Payable (AP) - Backup
- Issue purchase orders and process expense invoices.
- Reconcile AP invoices, vendor accounts, credit cards, and gas cards.
- Process cheque runs and electronic payments.
- Manage sub-trade packages, vendor COIs, and inventory tracking.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting.
- 5+ years AR/AP experience and 3+ years payroll experience.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, accounting software).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Professional, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
