Job Description

Position Summary:

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for all daily accounting tasks for our greenhouse operations. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proficient in accounting software and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and timely. Payroll processing support Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts. Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures. Prepare financial reports and summaries for management. Maintain and update accounting records and files. Support audits by providing documentation and explanations. Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency in accounting and related software (e.g., QuickBooks, Dext) Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team
We have greenhouses in four locations in the Lower Mainland. Bus service is not available so having access to your own vehicle will be required. This position may require you to work in our offices at various locations (Abbotsford, Surrey, Delta).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$57,500.00 per year
