Job Description

Our client a high profile company in the technology sector is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join there growing team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and Tax operations, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with evolving business needs. This role will oversee end-to-end financial processes, drive cost reduction strategies, and play a pivotal role in internal and external reporting activities.Key Responsibilities:Accounts Payable (AP):

• Supervising Invoice Processing: Oversee and review all invoice-related activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness in vendor payments.
• Expense Report Processing: Supervise travel and expense reports based on the company's Travel Policy and applicable GST/HST regulations, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
• Travel Policy Management: Manage periodic updates to the company's Travel Policy to reflect the latest business situations and comply with any changes in tax regulations.
• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Lead and implement strategies to reduce operational costs without compromising service delivery.

PAccounts Receivable (AR):

• Credit Control Processes: Oversee credit-related processes such as reviewing and adjusting credit limits and payment terms.
• Overdue AR Management: Monitor overdue accounts receivable, initiate communications with customers, and escalate as necessary to mitigate collection risks.
• Management Reporting: Provide periodic AR reports to senior management, highlighting current statuses, risks, and action plans for improvement.

General Ledger (GL):

• Monthly Close Activities: Manage and review all monthly closing entries, including those related to sales, inventory, payroll, bonus accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and more.
• Year-End Financials: Oversee the year-end closing process, including cooperating with external auditors during financial statement audits to ensure smooth compliance.
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of cash (bank accounts) against book records to ensure accurate reporting.

Tax Compliance & Reporting:

• Indirect Tax Filing: Lead and execute monthly filing and payment of taxes, including GST/HST, PST (for regions like Quebec (QB), Manitoba (MB), Saskatchewan (SK), and British Columbia (BC)).
• Regulatory Compliance: Actively monitor changes in tax regulations with the help of external professionals and ensure full organizational compliance.
• Corporate Tax Filing: Support annual corporate income tax filings in coordination with external tax advisors.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Skills Required:
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel. SAP preferred
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to drive efficiency and streamline processes.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in similar finance and accounting roles, preferably within technology distribution.
