Job Description


We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the vibrant city of Burlington, Ontario. The role is central to our operations, requiring the successful candidate to manage all aspects of accounting functions, ensuring precision and compliance in all tasks. The role involves a varied range of responsibilities including the maintenance of accurate records, leading internal and external audit activities, and supervising payroll and accounts administrators.Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of financial records, including General Ledger and journals.
  • Lead the full cycle of accounting responsibilities for operations in different regions.
  • Balance accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Organize and lead the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external audit activities.
  • Participate in and support year-end sales forecasts and expense budget preparations.
  • Complete and submit sales tax remittances forms.
  • Review and produce sales reports.
  • Supervise payroll administrators and provide backup when needed.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or similar role in a financial department
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions including but not limited to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Experience with Auditing processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of Billing Functions and ability to oversee these processes
  • Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is required. MSc/MA is a plus
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
