We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This long-term contract position offers a unique opportunity to oversee financial operations and contribute to the success of a leading organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and financial management, along with exceptional leadership skills.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the Finance and Administration department, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, variance analyses, and costing metrics.
  • Establish and enforce fiscal control policies, supporting budgeting processes and investigating financial discrepancies.
  • Lead month-end financial reporting activities and ensure data integration with corporate systems.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance.
  • Develop financial models and business case analyses to support new initiatives and capital investments.
  • Manage the implementation of new finance systems, acting as a subject-matter expert for assigned projects.
  • Supervise teams handling billing, payroll, and accounting, providing mentorship and troubleshooting support.
  • Administer payroll processes for both unionized and non-unionized employees, ensuring compliance with regulations and completing year-end adjustments.
  • Review and update internal control policies, ensuring documentation remains accurate and current.
  • Address finance and administrative inquiries while managing additional projects as required.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software systems, with familiarity in platforms such as Concur.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting processes and fiscal controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop financial models and perform cost analyses.
  • Experience supervising teams and providing mentorship in a finance environment.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes, including compliance with union and non-union regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with external auditors and manage audit preparations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
